The three main differences are: The 4000 uses a 1-1/4" blade vs the 1" on the 3000 model. The 4000 comes with a built-in air cooling system for the blade, and the 4000 maintains the full 13-1/2" round capacity at 45 degrees of mitering whereas the 3000 is 12" round at 45 degrees due to frame differences.
