Angle grinders are good tools for heavy metal grinding with a rigid grinding disc or blending and shaping with a flexible disc but both are too aggressive for auto body prep. The best tool for sanding and prepping an auto body before painting would be a Dual Action or DA Sander. They are typically air powered with a 5" or 6" diameter pad for sand paper.
