Both of your questions would depend entirely on the abrasive belts you choose to grind with. There are several options for belts in this size and an aluminum zirconia or ceramic coarse belt will grind much longer than an aluminum oxide. The 4 hp motor and 7000 surface feet per minute will certainly give you enough power and speed to grind as fast as you want.
