If you remove the 4 small Allen screws that hold the blade cover on, you will see the arbor bolt and washers that hold the blade. Locate the spindle lock on the backside of the motor (see picture). If you push this lever in you will be able to find a spot in the blade rotation where it locks in so you can take the arbor bolt out that retains the blade. I found that it is easiest to remove the blade with the head in the upright position with the guards closed as the 2nd photo shows.
