It depends on the material you are cutting. Blade life can also be affected by how you clamp the material as well as the operator. Make sure you enter the cut slowly so as not to impact the teeth on the material, then pull gently and let the saw do the work. Too little pressure doesn't adequately spread the load on the tooth surface and too much pressure will damage the blade.
