The 7A punch that just arrived does not punch and strip in one 90 degree movement; only punch. Is this an "update"?

When you lift the handle, the punch tip should retract within the punch housing, stripping the material off of the punch. There have been no updates to the tool. If yours does not do that you would want to verify the punch is the correct length and is assembled correctly.
