need to notch 2 1/2" pipe with a 4" hole saw; do you know if a 4" hole saw will have clearance?

There are a few deep hole saws on the market but they are expensive. A typical hole saw notches slightly less than 2” depth so it would not go through your pipe all the way. With a 90 degree notch you can leave some flat on the end of the cut and only cut about 1/3 of the pipe and it will fit up fine. Most customers just break off the remaining with a pliers or use a cutoff wheel to complete the notch with this method.
