These Fein slitting shears, otherwise called double-cut sheet metal shears, shear twice sacrificing a 3/16" strip in the middle. This sacrificial strip takes the distortion and stretching from the shearing process and leaves a smooth flat surface on the remaining parts. The disadvantage of this style metal shear would be turning radius, which is tighter with scissors-style single-cut shears.
