How wide can you make a 48" table by staggering the plates?

On a MAX table there are 5 mounting supports spaced 10 inches apart. If you staggered every other plate out 1 hole set you would gain 20 inches overall. If you want to go further, you could look at adding a leg to support the end of each plate to keep it from flexing and gain another 20 inches.
