9/32" is the largest punch made for this tool. Holes as large as 1/2" would quickly exceed the tonnage rating for this tool. To punch up to 1/2" holes you would have to use the No. 8 Med Duty Punch or larger.
Are you able to put a 3/8 and 1/2 die on it if you're just punching through thin sheet metal? Roper Whitney 5 Jr Hand Punch Kit
I installed a lot of snow guards which are a 22 gauge steel wrapped with a 26 gauge steel. But we need to pre-drill 1/2-in holes every 18 in in this 10-ft snow guard and I'm thinking this could save us some time if we can fit a bigger die. I don't want the bigger punches they are bulky and too heavy to use on a roof.
