Crater Maker dies have a flat recess for use with button-head fasteners, while the Raised Recess dies have a tapered recess for flat-head fasteners.
What's the difference between these and the Crater Maker dies? HammerFab Raised Recess Dimple Die Set
I am thinking that the riv-nut recess dies should be used on the lower 18 ga panel in conjunction with dies that create a pocket for tapered button head bolts on the upper panel. However, Hammer Fab seems to have two similar die sets for that upper panel: raised recess and crater maker. Please clarify this for me. I will be using 1/4-20 riv-nuts on the bottom panel and 1/4-20 SS button head bolts on the top.
