Unless you have a following pressure die like the Mittler 2500 bender, there is always some risk of scratching with aluminum. Three things you can do to help with this style bender:
- Use a quality high-pressure bending lube on the counter die.
- Use a Delrin or roller-style counter-bend die.
- Polish the edges on the groove of the former die to reduce marking on that side.
